Feta with hot honey

If you’re looking for a simple yet impressive dish, Feta with Hot Honey is the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy flavours. This Mediterranean-inspired recipe is quick to prepare and makes an ideal starter, sharing dish, or addition to a grazing platter. Using locally sourced ingredients, this dish celebrates bold flavours while keeping things beautifully simple.

This would work really well crumbled on top of a summer salad, salty feta, a touch of heat and then a hint of sweetness coming through.

Ingredients

Block of Feta 200g
3 Tablespoons – Stones Devon Honey
1 Tablespoon – Four Elms Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Teaspoons – South Devon Chilli Farm Flakes
A handful of West Country Olives – Green Pitted Olives

Method

1. Prepare the Hot Honey

In a small saucepan, combine Stones Devon honey, Four Elms apple cider vinegar, South Devon chilli flakes, and rapeseed oil. Heat gently until fragrant and slightly reduced. Set aside.

2. Fry the Feta

Heat 2 tablespoons of rapeseed oil in a non-stick pan. Fry the block of feta on all sides until golden and slightly crispy.

3. Add the Hot Honey

Pour the prepared hot honey over the fried feta. Allow it to sizzle and infuse into the cheese for a minute or two, coating the feta evenly.

4. Add the Olives

Scatter green pitted olives around the feta, letting their briny flavour mingle with the sweet and spicy honey.

5. Finish and Serve

Drizzle a little extra Stones Devon honey on top for shine and sweetness. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately with crusty bread or as part of a Mediterranean-style platter.

Our hot honey includes four local ingredients Stones Devon runny honey produced near Ivybridge, Bell and Loxton rapeseed oil Kingsbridge, Four Elms Apple Cider vinegar produced near SIdmouth and South Devon Chilli Farm Chilli flakes, Loddiswell.

These high-quality carefully selected ingredients give the dish its distinctive flavour and make this Feta with Hot Honey recipe truly special.

We are soon to launch our brand new Olive flavour ‘Hot Honey’ which combines this same special hot honey recipe with green Halkidiki, pitted olives.

So if you are a hot honey addict then give this recipe a go next time you are looking for something abit different to cook up.
