Meet the Supplier - Stergioudis Olives
In September last year we visited our new olive supplier in Halkidiki, Greece. Stergioudis Olives is owned and run by Brothers Ioannis and Dimitris Stergiodis. We recently asked Ioannis some questions about their Olive farm and some of his favourite foods and hobbies.
Q: When did Stergioudis Olives begin?
A: The factory builded 10+ years but we make olives over 25 years
Q: If you weren’t working with your family Olive business what other job do you think you would be doing?
A: I’m sure I would be a salesperson with sales goals only.
Q: What is your favourite food? (Other than Olives!)
A: I love beef and chicken breast. (Of course I’m in love with burgers and pizza!!)
Q: How many Olives do you think you eat a week?
A: At factory minimum 20 olives for fun. At home another 10-15 olives..
Q: How many olive trees do you have to harvest?
A: Around 3.000 and we already planted another 500..
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time, when not working?
A: I love to drink coffee and read news about cars. I like cars too..
Q: How did you hear about West Country Olives? And why did you want to supply/work with us?
A: I found you in my search about olives world wide.
You have nice social profiles and I’m surprised with how much you love olives.
Q: How was your recent holiday?
A: It was perfect, we visited japan and Singapore and we are surprised with them. perfect culture and food specially in Japan.
Q: Where else would you like to travel?
A: Finland maybe next year.. in our clients in USA and Canada and of course to you in England!
